{French Bead Flowers - Endless Creative Possibilities}

{

The art of creating flowers and flower arrangements from glass beads strung on wire may have begun as early as the 1300’s in Germany, when metallic wire came into production.  The uncomplicated looped flowers that were quite probably crafted in those simpler times were the forebears of a visually stunning panoply of original and uniquecreations which continue to be made in our own era.

French bead flowers are in order wherever you might use fresh flowers or silk flowers.  However, unlike real flowers, or even silk flowers, bead flowers can appear fresh for a lifetime, or even longer.  They ideal for use in bridal bouquets, corsages, hair barrettes, and bridal headpieces, to cite just a few examples.

Recognizethese names?  Marie Antoinette, Napoleon’s Josephine, Patricia Nixon, Princess Caroline, Princess Grace of Monaco, William Randolph Hearst. They have something in common.  Do you know what it is? All of these people owned and treasured bead flowers.

Bead flowers can be made from many kinds and styles of beads.  For a marvelous accent, some beaders use rhinestone centers in their flowers.  Beads can be transparent or opaque, pearly or matte, colorless or colorlined,.  The number of possible combinations is nearly infinite.

The best thing about bead flowers is that the creativity of the artist can be unlimited.  Would you like to construct a black rose?  Go to it. Do you have in mind a “giant” version of a very tinyliving flower?  Begin now.  Do you want to create a flower that looks like it came from another universe?  Sure! Why not? After all, new hybrids of real living flowers are being developed all the time.  A “twin” of your “fantasy” bead flower might soon be offered for sale in a garden store near you soon.
